Kids’ Meals, Inc. is a non-profit social service agency which provides daily meals, groceries and wrap-around services to the homes and families of impoverished, low-income preschool-aged children. 100% of the children they served live in underserved communities and 95% are minorities. Kids’ Meals, Inc. is using NMTC financing to develop and construct the Building Hope Campus, a 50,000 sq. ft. food distribution and social service center designed to triple its meal distribution capacity and expand critical wraparound services for food-insecure families. Located in Houston, TX, the facility enables Kids’ Meals to significantly increase production of meals. Additionally, the new campus supports the distribution of 2.7 million pounds of groceries per year to underserved households.
Beyond food access, the Building Hope Campus provides early childhood education, job training, financial literacy, healthcare access, and family resource programs in partnership with organizations like Texas Children’s Hospital, Baker Ripley, and the Houston Health Foundation.
