United Health Centers of the San Joaquin Valley (UHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center committed to expanding healthcare access for medically underserved communities across Fresno and Kern Counties. UHC provides comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services, addressing significant healthcare disparities in a region where over 50% of residents live in poverty and face chronic disease rates 30% higher than the California average.
Through NMTC financing, UHC is expanding its footprint with four new community health centers—three in Fresno (Cesar Chavez Blvd, Jensen Avenue, Shields Avenue) and one in Delano (Cecil Avenue)—totaling 50,973 sq. ft. of healthcare space. These facilities will deliver primary care, pediatrics, optometry, chiropractic care, behavioral health, and urgent care services, ensuring low-income and uninsured patients have access to high-quality, integrated care. Additionally, the project supports UHC’s medical residency and workforce training programs, strengthening the healthcare talent pipeline in the Central Valley.
