Camarena Health is the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Madera County, serving over 63,000 patients annually across 18 locations in Madera, Coarsegold, Oakhurst, and Fresno. Camarena leveraged NMTC financing to construct a new 16,600 sq. ft. health center in Los Banos, a rural, predominantly farm-working community that faces significant barriers to primary and specialty care.
The Los Banos Camarena Health Center will provide family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, dental, vision, chiropractic, and behavioral health services in a fully integrated care model. In addition to direct medical care, the facility will include a second-floor conference and community space for diabetes management, nutrition education, and workforce training programs, designed in collaboration with local residents. They are also extending its workforce development initiatives to the Los Banos facility, including a dental residency program with Western University, Physician Assistant training, and school-based wellness programs in partnership with local high schools.
