Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital (MLKCH), a private, non-profit, safety-net hospital, used NMTC financing to support the development of a 49,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center on the MLK Medical Campus in South Los Angeles, creating a one-stop hub for preventative care, specialty medicine, and chronic disease management. The facility is co-anchored by an Ambulatory Surgical Center and the MLKCH Medical Group (a Non-Profit Medical Group for Doctors serving South Los Angeles) and its Advanced Care Program.
The Wellness Center also houses independent specialists including women and children’s health, behavioral health, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, urology, rheumatology, pulmonology, and oncology. The building will also provide the community with access to imaging and laboratory services, and a retail pharmacy.
