New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) is a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to affordable homeownership for low- and moderate-income families across Greater New Orleans. NMTC financing is being used to support the development of Rising Oaks, a 40-acre mixed-use, storm-resilient, and transit-oriented community in the Jefferson Parish neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. The project will deliver 150 homes, including 100 single-family residences and 50 age-restricted (55+) senior housing units, alongside commercial space, public parks, and stormwater infrastructure.
Rising Oaks prioritizes affordability, with 51% of homes reserved for families earning at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) and 100% available to families at or below 100% AMI. Designed with walkability and sustainability in mind, the development incorporates green infrastructure, flood mitigation features, and essential services, such as healthcare, financial institutions, and workforce training programs, fostering a thriving, resilient community.
