Kemper County School District serves over 900 students in grades Pre-K through 12 throughout rural Mississippi. Kemper County School District used NMTC financing for the construction of a state-of-the-art elementary school facility to serve their rural Mississippi community. The 67,000 sq. ft. building features 19 state-of-the-art classrooms, specialty spaces for art and music, a gifted classroom, and a multi-purpose activity room with storm shelter capabilities. The facility also includes administrative space, offices and support areas, as well as a teacher’s workroom, and nurse stations.
This transformative project marks the first phase of the District's five-phase strategic plan to centralize educational facilities in Dekalb, serving a student population where 100% qualify as economically disadvantaged.
