CrescentCare is a non-profit community healthcare provider focused on offering affordable health care to New Orleans’ underserved communities, including individuals living with HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C, the service industry, the LGBTQ community, and others in-need. CrescentCare reaches thousands of individuals annually through various healthcare, prevention, and supportive services. CrescentCare used NMTC financing to redevelop a 33,000 sq. ft. historic building at 2515 Canal Street in New Orleans into a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
The project allows CrescentCare to grow its operations and expand access to affordable healthcare and community services to the residents of Mid-City New Orleans. The new facility doubles their capacity with 30 exam rooms, enabling them to serve over 6,360 patients, with approximately 80% expected to be low-income individuals. The center was designed to provide comprehensive services including primary care, infectious disease services, behavioral health, substance use services, prevention, outreach, education, and case management - all offered on a sliding scale to ensure accessibility regardless of ability to pay.
